Auditions
The Dancearts Competition Team is open to any students 8 years old and up. Dancers will learn a short combination in each style of dance to be performed in groups. You do not need to be experienced in all styles of dance to audition. Students should wear dance attire, bring all dance shoes, and just try their best!
Rehearsals
The teachers will determine who is in which dance routine. This will depend on age, level, and the limit of dances each dancer says they can be in at the time of auditions. Dancers are required to attend all rehearsals unless they are sick, have family or school obligations or their absence has been approved by Marie or Marisa. Rehearsals will be one day during the week days or possibly a Sunday if the dancers in that particular routine are not available during the week. Competition rehearsal attendance is crucial to being and feeling a part of the TEAM as well as to perfect each routine in order to ready for competition.

What is Competition?
The Dancearts Competition Team is an opportunity to be part of a team that practices together on a weekly basis and travels to 3 to 4 competition/conventions a year. The team travels to competitions around MO and competes against other studios from the Mid West Region. The team gets to work with many guest instructors who are brought in as well as many instructors at the conventions. This is a great way to improve your dance technique while being part of an award winning team!
Requirements
All team members are required to take at least one (and we strongly suggest two) technique workshops in July as well as be enrolled in at least one Ballet class during the year. Team members are required to purchase a Competition Team Uniform (Jacket and Pants) in order to make the team stand out and feel part of a cohesive group. Attendance is required at dance classes as well as rehearsals for which ever dance(s) they are in.
